0-4 The hiyakawa project FINAL!!!!

Cool analogous color palette
Warm analogous color palette

Alright just as a recap of my project I wanted to design 4 different pieces that could stand alone on their own but also act as 1/4 of a bigger picture.I used different color pallettes in all of them and applied different color theories to each and every one of them so here we go!!!
So go ahead and click on them and please post your coments and tell me what you think

  1. I absolutely love this piece! I think there is a nice balance of abstraction and conception. I would love to see this printed out really big. When looking at it though my eyes keep going back to the bottom left panel which might be due to the fact that it's the brightest and the most contrasted in comparison to the cooler hues in the other three panels. Maybe bumping up the hue in the top right would give a nice vertical contrast and relationship to balance it out. It could also just be my lap top screen and everything might already by perfectly balanced as is. Either way kudos.

  2. I can definitely see your vision clearly! The four panels work very well together… my only critique would be that the bottom two panels do not activate the background space (the top two have that play between foreground and background--with scale and placement). I know that a neck was not part of your original design, but this could be one way to activate that space.
Great control over the color… this will serve you well in your job searches!

  3. Your shapes are great!

I wish the level of detail was consistent throughout the pieces. The top half has more flat shapes and conservative color palettes, while the bottom has lots of detail and crazy color palettes. I think if you reversed the bottom and top half's color palettes it would balance better.

  4. I'm happy to say that the whole image is reading much better now and the bottom images are working well individually too. However, I have to agree with Charlotte, the bottom backgrounds feel empty.

  5. This is really awesome, I remember you showing me what you were doing, the finished result looks great. I don't really think the background looks that empty with the gradient and all, could get a bit busy. Though I wonder what it would look like with other things in it.
